Meet our new Chairperson!
Steven C. Rea, CPA serves as president of Kilpatrick, Rea and Associates, CPA, PC, a full service tax and accounting firm based in Northlake. His extensive nonprofit experience includes 10 years as controller for a $50,000,000 outreach organization, service on boards, and over 30 years of program experience with nonprofits ranging from school boards to city police departments to Boy Scouts. He brings a practical business view tempered by the operational goals of nonprofit operations. He has served with the DeKalb PAL Board for several years. His private industry experience includes publishing, television and for-profit education.
Meet our new Sergeant
Sergeant Janice Love began her career in Law Enforcement 22 years ago in 1997 with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas where she worked for 6 years. Sgt. Love’s moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2003, where she began her career with DeKalb County Police Department. Sgt. Love’s experience with the DeKalb County Police Department consists of working in the Uniform Division, C.I.D., and the Office of the Chief of Police, where she served as an Administrative Aide to the Chief of Police and a Sergeant Detective in the Internal Affairs Unit. When a position came open in the Support Services Division for a Commander in the PAL Plus- Explorer Programs, Sgt. Love threw her hat in the pot. Sgt. Love believes at this stage in her career, programs for youth are imperative as a deterrent to help change the trajectory of crimes initiated by youth and she’s prepared to dive in to help change the course.
